Islamic Republic of Iran withdraws its decision of increasing three folds the assessed value of Pakistani Kinnow for duty purposes.
According to a press release issued here by Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Company (PHDEC) today, as a result of hectic efforts made by PHDEC in collaboration with Commercial Section of Embassy of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Iranian Government took back the three-fold increase in Custom Duty on Kinnow import from Pakistan. All stakeholders immensely appreciate the reversal.
The Custom Authorities of Islamic Republic of Iran unilaterally took decision of increasing the assessed value for duty purposes from US $ 400 per metric ton to US $ 1300 per metric ton. The decision would have hampered the export of Pakistani Kinnow to Islamic Republic of Iran, which is one the biggest import markets for our Kinnow.
